Soledad Flores
Bio:
Soledad Flores is a Chilean architect and visual artist based in London, Ontario. Her work explores the relationship between emotion and structure, combining an architectural perspective with a contemporary pictorial language.
She creates compositions that balance order and fragmentation, where rational systems coexist with intuitive gestures. Using mixed media such as acrylic, resin, and metallic elements, she develops surfaces that suggest internal processes rather than literal representations.
Her practice focuses on constructing visual atmospheres where control, tension, and transformation are in constant dialogue, inviting the viewer to interact with the work on both a sensory and emotional level.
In her current series “Axis of Contained Rupture”, she develops emotions in three scenes that vary according to a central natural axis, such as the red fruit, inviting the viewer to experience the internal sensations evoked by the unfolding of these scenes.
