Tina Kalo has always enjoyed painting and drawing. As a young girl she took art lessons at St. Mary’s convent in Kitchener, where she learned the basics of perspective drawing and oil painting. While pursuing degrees in the sciences at Western University, Tina continued to develop her style of art experimenting with pointillism and impressionism.
Tina strives to create impressionistic oil paintings where the color, value and texture of paint being applied is “right the first time” using bold luxe brush strokes. Minimizing the number of times paint is applied to the canvas creates a clean effect.
Tina paints daily from 5:00-7:30AM in her home studio. Currently, she is focusing on Northern Ontario landscapes. A portion of proceeds from the sale of Tina’s art are donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.
